Sorry, it’s April 1st and we couldn’t resist the silly joke below. Whilst the joke might be a tad silly, it’s no more so than the daft idea that trunk roads and motorways are to be leased out to multinational companies (the story that raised our ire). I dread to think what the implications could be for cyclists. With companies vying for profits, cycling policy – potentially – falling between profit motivations and government policy, and motorists having their daft ‘we pay, you don’t views almost legitimised, there’s very little ‘Victorian’ about any of this (the government had indicated that the roads were inhibiting our Victorian ambition). Queen ‘V’ will be turning in her grave. Welcome to GB PLC eh?
