The Brussels Express – Cycle Messengers in Europe’s most congested city
Here’s an excellent video by Sander Vandenbroucke . Following cycle messengers in Brussels the short film documents cycling difficulties in the bureaucratic heart of the EU. According to the preamble on the site, Brussels is Euroe’s most congested city. Having visited a few times and with only anecdotal evidence to support me, Brussels doesn’t appear as traffic choked as London or Rome. Still, a city choc full of motorcars is a city choc full of motorcars. Arguing about numbers is tinking at the edges. Without a shadow of a doubt however, Belgian’s well documented cycle culture makes the lack of modal use surprising.
