The city through a child’s eyes.

The modern city as viewed by a child

Truly wonderful the mind of a child is’.

You hit the nail on the head Yoda. Evelyn, my five year old daughter, likes to play with toy cars. They give her hours and hours of pleasure. She lines them up, drives them around and then lines them up again. And again. And again. And again. Then it dawned on me. This is how the 5 year old mind views traffic – an endless line of cars, often circular in nature. No beginning and no end.  Being a city resident, I find it hard to argue with that.

A little redressing of the balance is needed. Perhaps a nice bike lane for this carpet scene. It’s imaginary, so we can throw caution to the wind and lower the speed limits. I might even glue some of those Copenhagenize love-handles to her plastic lamposts. Maybe add a street cafe. Certainly add some people. Time to find some of those little French toy cyclists I think.
