Odoni Cycle chic photo competition

Followers of the blog will know that I recently joined the Harris Hack for a splendid ride around Cardiff city centre. It was a gorgeous day, we rode beautiful bikes and elegant ladies and gents drank tea, chatted and reclaimed our city centre from the blandness of modernity. It was a resounding success. Since that point, Twitter has been busy with requests for a repeat and the Cardiff Cycle Chic site has been equally busy with fresh pictures of a burgeoning cycle chic scene in Cardiff.

Riding home last night, I had an epiphany by the Welsh College of Music and Drama. ‘Ouch! Painful!’ I hear you cry (but only for Odoni….). If there’s one thing that I consider as important as my bikes, that’s trying to look after their security. So to support the ethos of riding nice bikes slowly whilst wearing nice clothes (leaving the car keys at home of course), we’ll be running a monthly competition – ‘Cycle Shelter Chic’.

Send us your pictures of cycle chic and the best picture each month will receive either an Odoni secure bicycle wall hanger or a mini-Sheffield bicycle stand. Both will come with secure fixings and are ideal for use in a garage, shed or use in the home. The rules are very simple. Take a nice photo of an individual who meets the Copenhagenize manifesto for cycle chic, whilst he or she is securing their bike within a cycle shelter or next to a bike stand. Preferably ask the person first to avoid any poke in the eye type situations, or pedal like blazes clutching your camera like a prized medal. e-mail them to me at cyclestuffblog@gmail.com and using skill and judgement (bribery is even more successful) we’ll pick the winner out on the 15th of each month. You may consider the clock ticking and the first winner will be picked in November. Remember to tell me which of the two security products you’d prefer. My only little caveat is that I’d like to showcase any good pictures on this blog. Anything that furthers the cause of people using bikes can only ever be a good thing.
